How long do the batteries last in heated socks and gloves?

The battery life of heated socks and gloves varies by brand, though most will last several hours out on the slopes.

Can I control the temperature of my heated gear via my phone?

Some heated ski clothing and heated ski boot bags have mobile interfaces you can use to control your heated ski gear. However, most models have simple in-pocket controls designed to be easy to operate even when wearing ski gloves. This is easier to use during skiing, as opening your phone to change the temperature can be difficult when in full ski clothing; a simple button control is a more practical option.

Are heated socks better than heated insoles?

Heated socks are generally considered better for all-over warmth as they encompass the whole foot; ideal for cold toes. Heated insoles are better for avoiding overheating during activity but might make your boots feel snug if your ski boots are already on the tighter side. The choice ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Are heated gloves and socks waterproof?

Heated socks are generally not waterproof, especially the heating elements inside. To wash a pair of heated socks, make sure you take out the electrical componenets as per the manufacturer instructions before washing as normal.

Can I use heated insoles with my custom footbeds?

Installing heated insoles with custom ski boot liners is generally not recommended. Most liners are heat or pressure moulded and the temperature of the heated insoles may warp your custom liner. This may vary by manufacturer, so check the exact specifications regarding maximum temperatures. Custom boot liners are also intended to create a tight fit, so adding an insole will make your boot too tight. If you have a custom footbed, we advise using a heated sock instead.
