1. I am an intermediate skier. Which type of ski is best for me to progress quickly?
If you’re an intermediate skier, then you’re probably at the stage where you feel confident on the mountain and want to start exploring more. Maybe you’re also ready to dabble in different skiing disciplines. Choosing which ski is right for you depends on the skiing discipline. Your most versatile ski is the All Mountain – like the name suggests, All Mountain skis are designed for handling anything the mountain throws at you. Take them from groomed pistes to backcountry trails and even the terrain park. They won’t perform the same as a dedicated ski designed for one specific type of skiing, but you get the freedom to experience everything.

2. Do women need different all mountain or piste skis than men?
Not necessarily. The most important factors in determining skis are experience and height. Your ski should fall somewhere between your chin and the top of your head; use a longer ski for greater stability and speed, and a shorter ski for easy turning. For this reason, some taller women may prefer to use men’s skis, and shorter men may find a women’s ski offers better control. There’s no difference in construction between men’s skis and women’s skis: the only difference is the length.

3. Can I use my existing standard bindings with a new freeride ski?
No. Freeride skis are meant for off-piste use where the terrain is often more difficult. You’ll need a specialised freeride ski binding designed to cope with the demands of backcountry skiing. It’s vital that your skis have the correct binding to allow your ski to come off with the right pressure, preventing injury in the event of an accident.
