Why do I need après-ski shoes?
après-ski shoes have been specially designed for walking in mountain conditions. With thermal insulation, waterproofing and anti-slip properties, après-ski footwear makes walking around the resort easier and safer. Plus, après-ski shoes help to aid post-ski recovery by providing padding for aching feet.
Can’t I just wear trainers for après-ski?
Normal trainers, heels, sandals, or other types of regular footwear are often impractical for après-ski because they haven’t been designed for icy conditions. Special après-ski footwear like snow boots, ski trainers and walking shoes are built to provide better grip in slippery mountain conditions and on uneven terrain, reducing the risk of falls and injury.
What makes chalet slippers different from normal slippers?
après-ski slippers or chalet slippers as they’re commonly called, are different from normal slippers because they’ve been specially designed to provide support and post-sport recovery. They also have special soles designed to provide better grip in slippery or icy conditions around the resort.
Will après-ski shoes keep my feet warm?
Yes, après-ski boots are usually insulated to keep your feet warm and dry. après-ski trainers are also great casual shoes for daily use if you want a trainer that keeps your feet warm and dry.
Can I wear après-ski shoes at all times, even when not skiing?
Of course you can! après-ski shoes such as snow boots are also exceptional for walking around in the British winter weather because they’re insulated, waterproof and anti-slip, making them ideal for activities like hiking and dog walking.
