Ski Goggles & Spare Lenses

Skiing goggles protect your eyes not just from the snow but also from harsh UV light reflected at high altitudes. Most ski goggles are specially designed to improve visibility and colour contrast, helping you to see terrain changes easier, with various interchangable lenses to suit different conditions. We stock ski goggles and lenses from the most popular snow sport brands, including Oakley, Shred, POC, Sweet Protection and Birko. Whilst our range of goggles are designed for skiing, they’re also suitable for other winter sport activities like snowboarding.

What are the FIS requirements for ski goggles?

Under FIS regulations from 2025, goggles are presently not a requirement for alpine skiing disciplines but are highly recommended to protect the eyes and to provide better visibility in different weather conditions. Goggles must have shatterproof lenses to prevent injury, and goggles cannot be modified to provide the racer with any unfair advantage.

What does VLT mean when choosing a lens?

VLT stands for visible light transition and tells you how much light passes through the lens. Choose a low VLT for bright days and a higher VLT to maximise visibility for darker days with flat light, fog, or heavy snowfall.

Which lens colour is best for each weather condition?

Much like sunglasses, goggle lenses are available in different colours. It’s not just about fashion, different colours work for different light conditions.

Dark lenses in smokey tones or blacks are best for bright light – think spring skiing in dry, sunny conditions. Brown, copper and rose lenses are best for partially cloudy days to enhance colour contrast and improve visibility, whilst gold, amber and clear lenses allow in more light and work better for overcast days with fog or heavy snow.

How do I ensure my goggles fit my racing helmet?

A good-fitting pair of goggles should sit comfortably with your ski helmet. It should sit against your helmet without a gap but without pressing into your nose either. We recommend bringing your helmet with you to try on goggles so you can ensure a comfortable fit.
