Why should I book a ski boot fitting?
Properly fitting Ski Boots, as well as footwear in general, are vital for people of all ages. Badly fitting ski boots can result in problems that can stay with you for the rest of your life. So no matter what age you are it is important that your boots are fitted correctly.

What does a Ski Boot Fitting consist of?
Step 1:
Biomechanical Assessment
The first step to a great fit. This is where we assess your skiing ability, foot size, shape and functionality. We also discuss any past issues.
Step 2:
Ski Boot Selection
Taking the info gained from the Biomechanical Assessment, here we choose the correct boot for your requirements and fit.
Step 3:
Insole Selection
Once we’ve got the boot selected, we move onto insole selection. There are endless benefits to a supportive insole. Reducing fatigue and better distribution of pressure are a couple of the main benefits. We have custom and prefabricated options available.
Step 4:
Boot Modification
If necessary this is the stage where we make Boot Modifications. Be it a liner modification, shell grind/stretch or even cuff alignment we’ve go the tools and know-how to make these adjustments to finish the boot off.
When can I get my ski boots fitted?
At Ski Racing Supplies we operate our ski boot fitting service on an appointment only basis. This ensures our specialist fitter can give you the time and attention you deserve. Ski Boot fittings take on average 1.5 hours, however, everyone’s feet are different so our appointment slots are 2 hours in duration to allow for any extra time that may be needed.

Your booking will be initially marked as pending, we then check our schedule. Once everything is checked you will receive an email confirming the appointment. Usually there are no issues but we like to be 100% certain to avoid any disappointment.

Olly Farr Ski Boot Fitter
Skiing Background:
Olly has been on skis from the early age of 5 and began racing since 10 years of age. Hooked instantly Olly went on to Ski for the England Artificial Ski Team in his teens. Having skied on holiday on the mountain for many years with his parents, Olly decided to take his racing to the next level. Based in Austria Olly learnt his trade with the Benni Raich Race Academy. Here Olly often got the opportunity to ski along side World Cup Teams from Ski Racing powerhouses such as the Austrians, the Norwegians and the Swiss. Naturally he was able to pick up knowledge from the worlds best and further his skiing knowledge and understanding. Its safe to say he eats, breaths and sleeps skiing.
Ski Boot Fitting Experience:
Retiring from Ski Racing in 2015, at the age of 20, Olly took to Ski Boot Fitting to be able to remain involved in the sport. Having been fitting ski boots for many years now Olly keeps up to date and expands on his boot fitting skills/knowledge by attending conferences, training events regularly, Ski Boot factory visits, online seminars plus discussions with some of the world’s most trusted Ski Boot Fitters.

What is included when buying Ski Boots with Custom Insoles from ourselves?
For all levels of skier, from those buying their first boots to seasoned experts and racers.
Your 2-hour appointment includes:
- Comprehensive biomechanical Assessment and Boot Selection.
- Insole selection and manufacture (made in house when opting for custom insoles, see price below).
- Ski Boot Modification (where necessary).
- Our SRS Fit Guarantee (see below).
We also offer several optional extras which may be recommended to help with enhancements in comfort and performance.
- Technical Ski Socks.
- Custom Liners (Foam and Zipfit).
- Boot Heaters.
- Booster Straps.
- Lifter plates installation (for race boots).
Custom Orthotic Insoles [£120.00]
We offer a range of custom products to cover most types of footwear from cycling shoes to ski boots, to ice skates. We make these products on site so there is no long delay between assessment and fitting.
Prefabricated Insoles [£45.00]
We offer a range of prefabricated products to cover children and junior skiers and/or ski racers. These are fantastic for younger feet and are more cost affective for parents.

Biomechanic Assessment and Ski Boot Health Check [£60.00]
A 30 minute appointment to look at your existing ski boots or to assess fitting issues leading to a future purchase. In this appointment we will take a brief history and look at fitting issues in order to formulate a plan to create the best fit possible. If further work or a new boot is required, then a follow up appointment may be required during busy periods.
Boot Set up/ fitting (boots we didn’t sell) [£100.00 + parts/custom orthotic insole]
If you have bought boots elsewhere and need them set up or fitted. This service includes heat moulding of liners/shells, 2 shell stretches/grinds or liner modifications and set up of cuff cant, forward lean and flex (where appropriate, required and dependent on what adjustments there are on the boot). With this service, like all others you are paying for the time of our experienced technician. No fitting guarantee is available on boots we have not supplied, follow up fittings are chargeable.
Custom orthotic insole (boots we didn’t sell) [£180.00]
This is the cost for one of our custom insoles when you didn’t buy your ski boots from ourselves. We make these products on site so there is no long delay between assessment and fitting.
Ski Boot Fitting & Modifications [£30.00 per modification]
Modifying ski boots is an art as well as a science; if we are carrying out a basic stretch, grind or liner modification on a ski boot then we have a fixed charge of £30per modification, for all other work we charge £30per 1/2 hour.
Ski Boot Guarantee to Fit Policy
When you choose to purchase and have your ski boots fitted at Ski Racing Supplies you will experience professional 1:1 service from our certified expert boot fitter.
Whilst we base all our ski boot fittings around the information provided by you at your initial appointment, and carry out a biomechanical assessment, we do understand that sometimes follow-up appointments and/or adjustments are part and parcel of getting the optimum fit. This does not mean that the boot is not right for you but there are a myriad of factors that can affect this, such as hydration, flexibility and ski technique.
In light of this we offer our Ski Boot Guarantee to Fit policy, where we offer free adjustments, to all adult ski boots for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase, full details and exclusions can be seen below
If you need to make an appointment for an adjustment we ask that you do not use the online booking system, as this is for new fitting appointments only. Instead, please give us a call or drop us an email and we can arrange a date and time that is convenient for you but please be aware that during peak winter season we can be very busy.
There are occasions where the nature of an adjustment requires the boot to be on a press overnight, whilst this may not be convenient, it is, at times, unavoidable.
Should you require further adjustments after the 1 year period we are happy to carry these out Monday-Friday however a nominal charge will be made for this work.
Ski Boot Fit Guarantee Policy
- We guarantee the fit and comfort of your new ski boots when selected and fitted by our certified expert boot Fitter.
- This guarantee is valid for 12 months from the original date of purchase.
Eligibility Requirements
- The boots must have been purchased from our store and fitted by our certified expert boot Fitter. Online purchases are excluded.
- The customer must purchase a new custom footbed/insole that is built and modified during the boot fitting in our store. The custom footbed/insole is a fundamental element to the fit and is required under this guarantee.
- The guarantee is void if the customer insists on a specific size, model, or adjustment against the explicit advice of our boot fitter.
Resolution Escalation Path
- The customer must provide us with a reasonable opportunity to examine, stretch, grind, heat-mould or make any other adjustments/modifications deemed necessary to the ski boots or liners to resolve the discomfort. Tweaks are free of charge during the guarantee window.
- If the shell fits but hot spots persist, we will try alternative custom liners or volume reducers, which may incur additional costs.
What’s not Covered
- Physical Foot Changes: Does not cover fit issues caused by subsequent weight fluctuations, foot injuries, medical conditions, or natural bone growth, however our team will use their discretion within the scope of this guarantee in an attempt to help resolve any issues
- Performance Changes: Does not cover a customer changing their mind about the desired flex rating, skiing style, or ability level.
- External Alterations: This guarantee does not cover modifications, stretching, repairs or alterations that have been carried out by anyone other than Ski Racing Supplies certified staff.
- Misuse & Wear: This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, including changes resulting from ordinary use, cosmetic damage, accidental damage, misuse, neglect or failures to adhere to reasonable break-in/care guidance given by Ski Racing Supplies certified staff.
Refunds
- When modifications are made to the boots, including the heating of liners, this deems them as a customised item and therefore refunds will not be offered under this guarantee.
